a new senior appointment at short notice.
The purpose of interim management is to maintain
control during the period of change and provide
a steady hand on the tiller for a few weeks
while the change is made. It can be particularly
useful if you have suffered the sudden loss
of a senior person from your organisation or
if you have to cope with long term absence due
to ill health. It's often reassuring for the
absentee to know that they are not being "replaced"
but their post is just being covered for a few
weeks.
